I began this piece drawn to the idea of something surfacing — minerals breaking through stone, or rain suspended the instant before it falls. Working wet on wet, I let the cyan find its own path through the grey, neither fully controlled nor fully free.
The process moves through several stages: a textured gesso base that gives the surface its relief, thin washes of fluid ink for the grey atmosphere, then carefully placed drops of acrylic cyan that bloom, scatter, or crystallise depending on the moisture in the canvas. Here they settled as constellations — some vivid, some barely surfacing.
Stretched on a solid wooden frame with carefully finished 4 cm (1.5") deep edges — no frame needed. The work arrives ready to hang, signed on the back, with a certificate of authenticity. Packed with maximum protection for safe international shipping.

Materials used:

Acrylic, ink, watercolor, charcoal
