Original artwork description
The second work in a new series of oil paintings of human and animal forms containing complex natural landscapes.
The intention is to create symbolic links with the natural world and all of its inhabitants, whether human beings or animals, in a unified visual language.
This translates to our universal need to work in harmony with the world's fragile ecosystem.
After experimenting with several colour schemes for this series, I settled on this mix of blues, greens and subtle shades of reds, which give the works a haunting quality.

This series of surreal oil paintings continues from the pencil drawing series "Human Nature" and explores the embodiment of nature through human and animal forms. These works make full use of negative space and restricted colour schemes to create intriguing images that create links with elements of the natural environment. Completed on a deep edged stretched canvas, ready to hang with very deep blue painted sides.
