Original artwork description
A series of paintings under the general title "Asphalt of Blood". Each work will have a specific name of the street depicted on the canvas. Each such street is a reminder of how during military actions local authorities used funds for other purposes. These streets and places had no strategic or any other significance. Often these were insignificant alleys, where there was practically no traffic. The roads there had not been repaired for decades. And it was during the war that municipal authorities decided to completely renew these roads. I personally witnessed this.
In general, the project was designed for all cities in Ukraine. Any artist who wants to can take part in it. Many cities have similar streets. Ultimately, the idea was that there would be a group exhibition on the topic of this project.
But I have little hope that anyone will be interested in this. Today, many in Ukraine have chosen to become "patriots" rather than honest people. And patriotism and honesty are not always something that gets along together.
I prefer to be an honest person to the end. I prefer to be a keeper of honesty and record what many prefer to ignore or forget.
Thank you for your attention.
