"My Kingdom" is a painting of a young boy who uses his imagination as a sanctuary - a personal kingdom where he can escape the hardships of childhood trauma.

This oil painting was born from my heart, it is a work which I want to illustrate the power of innocence and imagination as a means of finding peace amid pain.

The child's tranquil kingdom symbolises a safe, peaceful and magical refuge, offering a moment of serenity and hope for all those navigating challenging emotional landscapes.

I created this artwork because I have seen so much pain, I have looked into the eyes of children who have suffered so much, I have seen their eyes spark, their face come to life when they are told a story, when they are given a door to momentarily escape from the world that they live in. I want people to feel this work, I want it to be a work that people will not forget.
