Original artwork description
This small-format work continues the emotional language of my series “They Left Us Flags.”
“My Blue Car (Still Returning)” is a memory fragment — a surface where text, paint, and time dissolve into one another.
The blue car becomes both a literal and symbolic vehicle — a trace of the ordinary that has survived the fire.
The phrase “Still Returning” repeats like an echo, suggesting persistence, nostalgia, and spiritual residue.
While my larger paintings speak collectively, this one whispers — intimate, quiet, and deeply personal.
Mixed media on canvas.
Signed on the back.
