My original photograph was taken at Nudgee Beach, Queensland, Australia. The Rainbow Lorikeet pair were actively looking for a hollow in a tree for a nest. Perfect early morning sunlight to bring out all the bright colours in their plumage. I elected to paint this in pastels due to the vibrancy of the medium.
