Hi there! I’d love to share a new piece I’ve just finished — one that feels truly special to me. I painted it right after my first-ever ascent of Mount Elbrus — and actually, my first ascent of any mountain in my life. Before this trip, I didn’t really understand what mountains were all about, what climbing meant, or why people are drawn to them. I just wanted a break. To escape the rush, to unplug from the overwhelming pace of city life where everything is always “due yesterday.”
When I arrived, everything felt light and joyful — fresh air, hiking, stunning views. Pure euphoria. But the higher we climbed, the tougher the routes became — and that’s when I started to realize: this wasn’t just a beautiful walk. It was a journey inward. At one point, our guide said something that stuck with me: “The higher you climb, the louder the mountain will ask you: why are you here?” At first, I thought it was just a poetic metaphor. But then the real physical pain begins — altitude sickness, dizziness, shortness of breath — and that question gets louder. It starts to live inside you.
Why am I here and not lying on a beach somewhere? Why did I choose discomfort, cold, and pain over ease and pleasure? And then you realize — each of us has our own "why." Some are searching for answers, some are trying to heal something, some want to prove to themselves they can do it. In this painting, I tried to capture that exact moment — how people with different stories, ages, and emotional states line up and move toward the mountain. Some walk with confidence, some with fear, some with pain — but each carries a question inside.
This isn’t about sport. It’s not about tourism. It’s about deep, inner work. An honest conversation with yourself. A search. That’s what I wanted to capture. Because no one ends up in the mountains by accident. And this piece is about exactly that: how we climb not only external peaks — but the internal ones too. The real ones. Our own.
Discover Mountain Climbers Journey – a vibrant illustration that blends abstract ski imagery with deep personal meaning. Painted immediately after my first-ever ascent of Mount Elbrus, this piece merges joy, challenge, and transformation into a bright, celebratory scene.
🎨 Visual Highlights:
Simplified figures, flat planes of color, energetic compositions
Unique Concept: Skiers standing on zebra‑striped snow with white mountain peaks backdrop
Colorful Characters: People dressed in vivid outfits add life and movement to the scene
🗻 Emotional Story & Inspiration:
This artwork emerged from a profound mountain experience—my very first climb. I walked into the mountains to escape the rush and routine of city life. Elevated trails brought fresh air and euphoria, but soon the altitude sickness and physical struggle began. As hardship set in, a powerful question echoed: “Why are you here?”
This illustration captures that pivotal inner dialogue—people lined up, each burdened with their own "why": some searching, some healing, some challenging themselves. It’s not just ski art or mountain decor—it’s a visual meditation on personal ascent, resilience, and self‑inquiry.
Perfect for living rooms, offices, studios, yoga spaces, ski lodges, or as a meaningful gift
