In "Motion. Black" I explore the tension between darkness and light, structure and movement. Geometric triangular forms drift across a deep black field, creating a composition that feels both grounded and suspended in space.

The painting is created on coarse burlap canvas, whose natural fibers give the surface a strong tactile presence. I intentionally allow the raw texture of the material to remain visible beneath the layers of oil paint, so the painting keeps a sense of physical depth and material honesty.

Triangles are outlined with genuine gold leaf, whose warm reflections create a striking contrast against the dark background. As the light changes during the day, the gold subtly shifts and brings a quiet rhythm to the composition.

"Motion. Black" is part of my Motion series, a group of works exploring movement, spatial balance and light through textured burlap surfaces and gold leaf details. The paintings from this series can be displayed individually or paired with "Motion. White" and "Motion. Grey" to create a calm and balanced wall composition.
