Mostly Here continues my ongoing Disjointed Reality series—an exploration of how memory, presence, and fragmentation overlap in the quiet spaces of lived experience. This piece moves between construction and collapse, stitching together painted fragments, drawn gestures, and shifting grids that hint at both structure and interruption.

In this work, I focused on the tension between the grounded and the fleeting. Layered strips, veiled textures, muted greys, and soft jolts of ochre and rust drift through the composition, echoing the way our inner landscapes hold what is known, what is forgotten, and what still insists on being seen. The vertical and horizontal forms feel almost architectural, yet nothing fully resolves—inviting the viewer to stand inside the “almost,” the not-quite-here, the space where memory becomes emotion.

This piece embodies the emotional architecture at the heart of Disjointed Reality: how we piece ourselves together from what remains, what erodes, and what lingers without explanation. It is a work meant to be felt—a quiet but insistent presence.
