This is Morning News, my oil on canvas painting measuring 40cm x 40cm. I wanted to capture a quietly familiar scene—something timeless and comforting. The moment is set in a gentle morning haze, with a man reading his newspaper by a cozy little newsstand, his dog waiting patiently at his feet. The vintage blue car parked nearby and the soft silhouettes in the background help evoke that slower rhythm of life I find so grounding. I added rich reds and muted tones to draw out warmth and a hint of nostalgia, allowing the light to settle softly across the street and figures. It’s a quiet celebration of community and routine, the kind of scene you pass every day—until one morning, you stop and really see it.
