When creating this painting, I aimed to capture the serene and romantic atmosphere of a Venetian morning. The sunlight glimmers on the water, casting a golden hue, while the vibrant red flowers contrast warmly against the calm scene. The cups of coffee represent a pause — a moment of reflection — and the distant gondola adds depth and poetry to the composition.
I used the impasto oil technique, applying thick brushstrokes to express the shifting light and shadow. The background architecture blends soft grays and golds to evoke the warmth of sunrise, while the flowers in the foreground are layered in vivid reds to convey vitality. The reflections on the table and the ripples on the water are achieved with palette knife textures, merging realism with the dreamy atmosphere of Impressionism.
