I wanted to capture the moment when the first morning light reaches across the canyon and meets the cool shadows below. The distant cliffs glow in golden yellows and fiery oranges, while the valley, trees, and water remain immersed in deep blues. I used bold, simplified shapes to build depth and a strong contrast of warm orange against cool blue to emphasize the power of sunlight. Direct, expressive brushwork gives rhythm to the rocks, trees, and reflections, allowing the landscape to remain recognizable while retaining a sense of painterly freedom. Through this encounter of light and color, I wanted to convey the quiet, clarity, and grandeur of a canyon morning.
