ABOUT THE ART WORK
The painting reveals a majestic view of Venice. Against the calm waters of the lagoon, the cathedral rises—light and solemn, with graceful domes and carved facades reflected in the rippling surface of the canal. Its walls, as if saturated with sun, glow with golden and pink reflections of the evening light. Boats and gondolas glide slowly past the cathedral. The dark silhouettes of their slender hulls contrast with the soft glow of the sky and water.
