Moonier as an abstract has its appeal in the layers of texture a subtle ribbing through the background. A subtle reference to a moon gives the piece a nocturnal feel with the pale ribbing to the artists eye, a reference to ripples and water. All in the eye if the beholder - the desired effect.
On canvas, the base layers are built up of colourless texture with overlays of acrylic, then wonderful swathes of oil colour. Framed in wood painted midnight blue.
