Original artwork description
This paper and wood original dot collage is made from pieces of vintage book imagery.
I collect and sort (hoard) images from books. I group them by theme and over time amass enough of a certain theme to make an artwork from them.
Some of these little images are from vintage books of up to approx 70 years old. I am particularly drawn the vintage imagery that was created using old litho print methods the old books plate pictured often have halos or slight offset colours.
I have carefully extracted the old plates, bonded them onto birch plywood boards giving them a textured hand-painted surface texture. The sheets are then laser cut into these 3cm dots.
The artwork comes framed in white as shown.
