Carrara marble statuary is very precious, every time I work on it I put a lot of attention.
The most dalicate phase is polishing, with the high speed rotary tools can easily hurts the sculpture, this process lasts the same time as sculpting; for this artwork one week carving and another week smoothing with sand paper different grits and then polishing with cotton brush and paste. The sculpture has a safe position without base as in the pictures and it can be positioned also on the transparent plexiglass base with the stick in the center. I hope I gave all details about this artwork.
