Again touching on one of the many of the things that we all used to have and that now is making a comeback - the cassette tape!

Here is the second of a small series of 'old school' cassette tapes - something that used to feature in pretty much everybodys lives in various guises, often your favorite tunes of the moment or a present from a loved one so we could share our most cherished tracks.

Triggered by the music or the iconography of the cassette many memories tend to come flooding back.

Crafted with vibrant oils, this piece embodies nostalgia within a surreal pop art framework. It is a vintage tribute, celebrating the elemental joy of music and memories. My passion is infused in each stroke, creating an emotional resonance that echoes the mixtape era's spirit. This artwork is intended to infuse your space with a playful yet poignant energy, evoking treasured moments and the timeless allure of personal soundtracks.

About the artist
Martin Allen is a London based artist. Martin came to oil painting through a circuitous route, having drawn for most of his life and being largely self-taught he was eventually re-introduced to oil painting as a preferred medium to create his varied and diverse work. The methods he uses to paint are classic ones, using layered paint applications rounded off by oil glazes. These create, add depth and harmonise colours. He has shown solo numerous times at Goodwood, The Affordable Art Fair and others, been a finalist at the ‘London art Biennale 2019’, alongside various commissions including work for the BP Shipping collection, and most recently Vogue magazine.
