When I was painting this, I imagined that I was about to take that pathway and stand on a grand mountain in the middle of the Icelandic wilderness and everywhere that I looked were colourful hills , snowcapped peaks, moss covered slopes and majestic waterfalls. However, I did not include the waterfall in my painting but made it very misty instead.
I have not been to Iceland but wanted to reproduce a painting so colourful that would make someone else want to visit this beautiful country too. This is what I love about art, you can close your eyes and just imagine.. imagine you are standing right there, listening to the sound of young earth under your feet, observe the vivid colours of the tiny arctic flowers that grow by the mountains and fill a nice landscape with vibrant life. It's like finding hidden treasures and enjoying the ultimate peace and silence of Icelandic nature that is unparalleled by any other part of the world.
