I love creating Cityscapes with a little abstract twist

I have always enjoyed creating abstract cityscapes, I wanted to challenge myself and see if could create on a much larger scale, I am really pleased with the outcome of Midnight Metropolis.

Midnight Metropolis is a heavily textured painting. I started with a red & yellow base layer to give the background texture and so once I had painted over the red and yellow would give a slight glow beneath.

The waterfront is highly textured, acrylics layered with carving paste to give a rippled effect.

I created this piece using various palette knifes to carve out the details.
