Michael Schumacher scored an emotional first Italian Grand Prix victory for his new Ferrari team in 1996. His first season with the Scuderia had been hugely challenging and midway through the season the F310 was significantly modified, incorporating a pointed up nose to replace the origin sloped design. With his amazing speed and race-craft, Schumacher was able to overhaul Jean Alesi during the final round of pitstops to send the Tifosi wild, with Ferrari’s first win at Monza since 1988.
This painting is part of the Michael Schumacher Collection and depicts Schumacher on his way to victory, with the sunlight and afternoon shadows reflecting off the scarlet Ferrari’s nose cone.
