I wanted to capture a fleeting moment that exists somewhere between memory and dream—a quiet, solitary atmosphere tinged with gentle melancholy. To enhance this feeling, I used a monochromatic blue palette, freezing time within the canvas. The figure’s downward gaze and the subtle ripples on the water engage in a silent dialogue, hinting at an inner turbulence. In the painting process, I combined impasto with dry-brushing techniques so that the background and the figure remain distinct yet subtly merge, creating a misty forest and a cool, tangible sense of water.
