Original artwork description
I painted this doorway the way I see it each morning on the Mediterranean, where I live: turquoise water, far blue hills, and bougainvillea spilling color over cool stone. In loose watercolor washes I try to keep the air moving—the door as a threshold from a quiet room into wind, salt, and light. Living by the Mediterranean sets my palette and tempo: waves slow me down, the sun speeds my hand up. I want you to feel that single step outward, when shadow turns to glare and the day opens. For me, this view is more than a landscape; it’s a small harbor, a place of arrival and belonging.
My work here is a single copy of my unique and original handiwork. It is made on special, high-quality 100% cotton paper designed for watercolor from the world’s best manufacturers and has a density of 300 grams/meter.
