Meditation on a Rose (2002) Original Oil Painting by Silvia Pao

150 x 150 x 3cm (unframed)

£2,418.5

First art piece of the "Meditation on a Flower" cycle. The painting is a tribute to Pontormo's flamboyant and otherworldly painting.
The warm palettes, the cadmium yellows, the oranges, and the transparent reds generate a luminous tension driven by large masses: chromatic fields and a myriad of fine-pointed strokes. Yellow and red confront each other, merge, seek balance, and dance. Painted while listening to J. S. Bach's harpsichord concertos, this work offers a metamorphosis of the artist while working, an essential possibility, lush with pure light, the vibrant quintessence of being rooted in the planet.
The art work is squared, painted in very thin layers of colors and myriad of little signs to give movement of the flow.
It is painted on cotton canvas and glued on a wooden board. Borders are on natural wood so it is ready to hang.
