This painting is about that instinctive pull towards somewhere brighter, softer and more alive. A landscape unfolds across the canvas in a sweep of colour, where fields of flowers stretch towards distant hills and open sky. It is less about a specific place and more about the feeling of wanting to be there, fully immersed in light, colour and space.

Painted in oil on canvas, the surface is rich with texture and movement. Thick, expressive layers of oil paint have been applied by hand, using fingers as much as brushes, giving the piece a direct, physical energy. This tactile approach allows the colour to feel immediate and alive, with each mark holding a sense of spontaneity and presence.

The result is a painting that feels both bold and uplifting, where colour leads and detail emerges through the layers. There is a sense of openness here, of fresh air and distance, balanced with the intimacy of hand worked texture.

For me, this piece is about that simple, human feeling of escape, of knowing there is somewhere else you would rather be, and the quiet joy of imagining yourself already there.
