Masquerade
My art is born from a need to explore the inner world and the multifaceted nature of women's experiences. Each work is an honest conversation with myself, a flow of emotions and memories that find form in decorative portraits and abstractions. I perceive painting as therapy: it helps me heal, find wholeness, and share this experience with the viewer. In my subjects, I combine personal experiences with universal themes—love, loss, childhood, and self-discovery. This is why my paintings resonate with others: the emotions and memories captured on canvas are relatable to everyone.
In my practice, I draw on the aesthetics of tachisme—a movement where spontaneous gesture and expression take precedence over a predetermined subject. I embrace this freedom: painting emerges in the moment, from the interplay of color, texture, and inner impulse. I work primarily with oil, acrylic, and gouache, sometimes combining gouache with gravure. For me, oil is alive and multifaceted: it can be fluid, like watercolor, or dense and rich. Acrylic offers the freedom of large formats and the ability to work quickly, in a flowing manner. It's important for me that the medium follows the emotion and doesn't limit it.
For me, art is always a journey of transformation: personal and collective. I hope that my works help viewers not only empathize but also find reflection in their own stories.
