"Mary Read" - 9" x 12" x 1.5"
Acrylic on deep cradled wood panel. Sides are painted; no need to frame. Ready to hang.
England’s famous pirate, by the name of Mary
Also went by “Mark” (though her chin wasn’t hairy)
First with the British military far away from land
She sailed the seas in uniform, dressed as a man
One day pirates seized her ship
She shrugged and said “why not?”
Joined the rascals, met Anne Bonny
And together battles fought.
Her ending wasn’t easy
In prison Mary died
After a life of swashbuckling
With Anne by her side.
This piece is sold unframed but ready to hang. It will be shipped flat, carefully packaged in mostly repurposed shipping materials. Customs fees and duties are the responsibility of the recipient.
