Here I was looking for rhythm and structure contrasted with random lines from nature. Having given the picture a very neutral ground colour, I was exploring how to depict the boats in a series of short straight links in umber. For me it is quite a rare picture due to low chroma or colour contrast and emphasis on drawing with paint in a sparse and abstract way.
