After years of abstraction, I began exploring a variety of realistic narratives. Most recently the work has explored surrealistic themes. This is the sixth painting in an unexpected series of bird paintings. Mystery is again at the core. And while I am still in the process of understanding, the theme seems to be pandemic related, about a disconnect, a feeling of being out of place, of being in an environment that may seem vaguely familiar, but not necessarily "natural."
