Painted on location in the salt marshes of the Rann of Kutch ( Gujrat ,India ), this work belongs to my 2019 “Serenity” series, where I sought to translate stillness into visual form. That night, the Rann appeared transformed—the salt flats shimmering with a silver glow, erasing boundaries between land and sky. I was drawn to the soft intensity of that light, and the silence it carried. Working in near monochrome, I aimed to hold that experience within a delicate balance of tone and space. “Luminous Silence” is a meditation on presence—on how light can reveal stillness, and stillness can, in turn, illuminate everything.
