Luminous is the latest artwork in an ongoing series of landscape referential abstract paintings. My exploration is fueled by my love of collage materials, utilizing a variety of media to create movement, texture, and compositional interest.
Luminous is an exploration in color, shape and heavy texture. Inspired by land and sea scapes, the earthy colors and organic shapes reference the terrains I have experienced in South Florida, The Midwest, and North Georgia. The soothing color palette explores a blend of cool blues, muted reds with hints of peach.
The base of this piece consists of thick sheets of plaster creating undulating folds of bold texture. The flow of the horizontal composition is occasional intersected by vertical textural elements creating an interesting tension within the piece.
The piece is signed on the back and ready to hang.
