Original artwork description
Moreston Quay is a quiet hamlet a couple of miles down stream from Blakeney. Being downstream the tide comes in a hour or so before, and goes out later that it does at Blakeney. For this reason it is an ideal site for passengers to catch the ferry to view the seals at Blakeney Point in the summer months. We did so a few years ago and then walked there again along the coast path from Blakeney in 2020. The area was almost deserted on the beautiful March day but it was so cold I was only able to make this pen sketch and painted it back at the hotel.
Materials used:
Windsor & Newton artist quality watercolours; Cobolt Blue, Light Red, Raw Sienna with Pin waterproof pen on Bockingford 200lb paper.
