Blakeney Cut runs along the promenade through the North Norfolk town then narrows down almost to a narrow stream that meanders through the salt marsh before broadening out again to the east of Morston Quay. This stretch lays at the edge of the town and is marked by the beautiful wooden board walk moorings. In the summer months it gets really crowded but by late autumn the number of boats dwindle. This scene shows two Crab fishing boats and a small cruiser at low tide. The wooden Crab boats are such a common sight along the North Norfolk coast and as can be seen from the number of paintings in my gallery, I find their shape and features particularly attractive. (note; the actual width is 28cm)
Windsor & Newton artist quality watercolours; Cobolt Blue, Light Red, Raw Sienna and Paynes Grey on Saunders Waterford 200lb Not HP watercolour paper.
