The Corona virus also takes effects on artists. While dealing with the lockdown and the uniformity of life I started working in a different technique - drawing under wax!
By now I created quite a few and this one - Loveletter to an Etruscan - is one of them.
Drawing on Chinese silk paper or Wenzhou paper became collages in many layers and were eventually put beneath wax.
The outcome is quite stunning. The wax gives the artwork a soft finish but the strong lines and drawings still stand out.
Of course it should not be hung in a place where strong sunlight shines on it all day. If this is taken care of these artworks will have the same life span as any other - forever!
I worked with ink, watercolour, graphite, oil and wax on paper fixed on canvas board.
