This is the ninth of my "Love" heart pieces which are made with moulded aqua, gold, black and white polymer clay.

I created sheets of clay for these hearts using the Mokume Gane technique which is a decorative Japanese metal working technique, which originated from the 17th century when it was used to decorate samurai swords, and has been used with other materials such as polymer clay for many years now.

The sheets were then pressed into heart moulds to form the shapes, and once fired they were attached to tiny foam board plinths and mounted on a white card backing.

Please do message me if you are interested in commissioning a heart artwork in your own bespoke colour choices.
