Original artwork description
These lotuses grow in my garden-huge flowers the size of a hand. Buddhists revere the rose because its beauty arises from dirt & mud. I liked the way the evening sun seems almost a continuation of the flower. Although I usually prefer the viewer to find their own symbolism in my work, I think the light & beauty emerging from the dark says something of hope in these troubled times.
