Original artwork description
Painting originates from a 2011 picture of my Daughter in the bay of Los Gigantes Tenerife. The time was late afternoon and to be in this place at this time conjures up a mixture of emotions including atmospheric mood and the feeling of smallness against the vastness of the cliffs in the background. Pictorially my Daughters scarlet dress held sway over the greys and purples beautifully with its translucency mimicked by the waters own. Only a very few places we happen on manage to evoke deep feeling, this is certainly one of them - I hope you'll agree too?
