“Lonely Tree” is a small yet evocative photo encaustic artwork capturing the quiet resilience of a solitary winter tree emerging through mist and memory.

A monochromatic photographic image is layered with molten beeswax and fused repeatedly to create depth, translucency, and a soft, dreamlike atmosphere. The encaustic process partially obscures and reveals the landscape beneath, giving the piece an aged, almost ethereal presence — as if glimpsed through frost or time itself.

The darkened edges and organic wax textures frame the lone tree like a weathered window, enhancing the sense of solitude and stillness. Subtle variations in surface sheen shift gently in changing light, inviting closer inspection and contemplation.
