This work is about being inspired by the green of the apples against the multi coloured patterned cloth. It is a humble subject but the colours and shapes of the fruit make it so interesting. I am inspired by Vincent Van Gogh and some of the colours I use are reminiscent of his. The pastels I use are Henri Roche pastels which are manufactured in France and date back to the French Impressionists. This pastel is framed with a black frame and has a wide white mount and is sympathetic to the beautiful colours of the apples and patterned cloth
