Original artwork description:

This painting is my quiet ode to everyday city life — the kind that hums gently in the background, unnoticed, but full of beauty. I created it based on moments I observed while wandering the streets of Prague, a city I find endlessly inspiring. Its rhythm, light, and people feel poetic without even trying.

I wanted to capture those ordinary moments that often slip past us: people walking their dogs, sitting in a café, skateboarding, chatting under a lantern. All these scenes unfold independently, yet somehow together — like instruments in an orchestra, each playing its part.

I painted it in monochrome tones to focus on rhythm, light, and gesture — to let the movement and emotion speak louder than color. It’s about attention — how we see the city, how the city sees us. I imagine this city as one that listens. It listens to footsteps, laughter, streetlamps flickering on. It listens to people simply living their lives.

This work is very personal to me. It came together from sketches, memories, and small encounters in Prague — fragments of a place that could be anywhere, but feels familiar. If you’ve ever walked through a city and felt both alone and part of something larger, this painting is for you.
