Using old black and white photographs for inspiration Sophie transports the viewer to a secluded, rocky, shoreline just before a storm, when the mist is so thick you can't make out the horizon any more, wind howls, its so loud you have to shout to be heard and you can feel the power in the waters even when you're safe on the shoreline.

The painting is created in the multiple layers. Sophie works in a realistic manner of painting. In her paintings, she tries to achieve perspective, subtle color relationships and depth of space.
