This painting is my personal reinterpretation of Maurizio Cattelan's famous 'Comedian', filtered through the visual language of Vincent van Gogh. 'L'Ironia di Van Gogh (Van Gogh's Irony)' explores the concept of value in art, uniting the everyday object (the banana) with an icon of art ('The Starry Night')
.The result is an acrylic painting on canvas, 30x30 cm, that plays with the idea of 'art': is it a banana? Is it a masterpiece? Both? A surreal and amusing encounter that invites reflection on the value of art with a smile.
