The watercolour painting depicts a bouquet of lilacs in a large, round vase of sky- blue glass. The shapes are soft and slightly blurred-the lilacs and the vase seem to be made of light and air. The lilac blossoms, in shades of violet and lavender, rise like fluffy clouds against a pale, open background.
Colors gently flow into one another, creating a sense of weightlessness and quiet. The blue vase catches subtle reflections of light and echoes the hues of the flowers, forming an image that feels delicate and fleeting - like a spring morning suspended in a veil of mist.
Everything in the painting - from form to color - evokes a feeling of calm and gentle reverie.
