I painted this piece on-site on Lilac Hill at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. This painting features a path flanked by white, lavender, and purple lilacs in bloom, along with a sprinkling of white daffodils, under a sky heavy with spring rain. I created the clouds using a palette knife, and the paint has lots of texture and swirls of color. The lilac blossoms are also thick with texture. This is an original oil on stretched canvas.
