Perhaps this is why the Lilac Roller is the national bird of Kenya: its colours are supposed to symbolize the many different tribes that make up the Kenyan community.
These birds are known to be fearless creatures. They are not as afraid of people as many other birds. But their menu includes spiders, scorpions, snails and snakes.
So the lilac-breasted roller is just one of the fabulous bluebirds - the magical BLUEBIRDS OF HAPPINESS, - which, like a talisman, fearlessly defends, protects and guards you "against all evils of the world".
