Original artwork description:

When I created this painting, I wanted to capture the interplay of light and shadow in a winter forest. The snow covers the ground and rests on the trunks, bringing a touch of warmth to the cold silence. I deliberately chose a backlit composition, letting the sunlight emerge from behind the mountain, illuminating the birch trees in the foreground. This contrast of cold and warm tones expresses both the chill of winter and a sense of hope and serenity.

In terms of technique, I layered my brushstrokes to convey the texture of the snow, using cool tones to render the distant mountains and sky, while highlighting the snow on the branches with pure white accents. For the birch bark, I used firm yet flexible strokes to contrast with the softness of the snow. Through the play of light and shadow and the use of perspective, I aimed to make viewers feel as though they are standing in the scene, immersed in its freshness and tranquility.
