I find myself continually drawn back to the pool painting series I began during the Covid years—a project that offered a ray of sunshine during a uniquely challenging time. While browsing the Affordable Holidays website, I stumbled upon an image of a girl on a black-and-white floatie. The scene instantly resonated with me, and I knew I had to paint it. After receiving permission to use the image, I made a few adjustments to suit my vision, but the essence of the piece remains the same: a celebration of lazy, carefree days and the simple joys of summer.
