When creating this painting, I wanted to capture the pure joy of children at the seaside. They embrace the waves fearlessly, reaching out to the gulls above, embodying a sense of freedom and innocence. Through their gestures and expressions, I sought to bring viewers back to childhood, to relive that clarity and brightness of life.
I used vibrant contrasts to enhance the liveliness of the scene, with the deep blue sea and foamy waves highlighting the children’s playful figures. The gulls in motion add rhythm and depth. Quick, loose brushstrokes convey the splashing water, infusing the canvas with movement and breath.
