Original artwork description
In Fife in September just after the barley has been harvested, the fields are golden in colour and adorned with wonderful round bales of straw. I wanted to catch the feeling of this in this painting. Soon the field will be ploughed and completely different in colour.
I love the changing colours in the Fife fields as the seasons change. The shapes of the fields and the different crops help define the contours of this wonderful and much loved part of Scotland.
It was a beautiful Summer, with many very hot sunny days.
