An oil painting depicting the still, cool light at the end of the day.
This artwork was inspired by the view across ploughed fields, as the sun was low, at the end of a long walk in the English countryside.
Subtle layering of the oil paint gives the impression of darkness falling and silhouetting the tree in the foreground against the low, yellow light in the sky beyond. Despite the winter setting, this artwork gives a sense of warmth, from the distant glow on the horizon and the earth's brown hues.
Ready to hang.
This piece was created using Michael Harding Professional Artists oil colours, on a gesso primed, mounted wooden panel. The edges are painted white (please see additional photograph), and it is ready to hang. This artwork is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
