Original artwork description
For "Large Blue", I built up layers of translucent colour before cutting and sticking down all the collage flower shapes. I put on some music and placed the shapes quickly to create a lively rhythm and sense of light and recession. I made the butterfly carefully to give a natural focus and sense of life.
I used acrylic paints, inks, crayons and collage. I make my own collage papers by painting on lightweight sheets with layers of professional grade colour. After cutting out shapes with a knife, I glue the pieces onto a prepared wood panel using archival glue. Signed on the front.
Supplied unframed, shipped flat-packed in a strong box.
